Coordination
Here's the initial e-mail:
The last week of October this year starts with the Ontario Linux Fest
(Saturday Oct 24), contains the Teaching Open Source Summit (Thursday
Oct 29), and ends with the Free Software and Open Source Symposium
(FSOSS 2009 - Friday Oct 30 with optional hands-on workshops on
Thursday). There has been talk of a couple of other events that week,
possibly including a Teaching Open Source boot camp (Mon-Wed) and at
least one other event.
Here's an idea: how about making that week the Toronto Open Source Week?
We could fill in the Monday-Wednesday with some good open source events
such as code sprints, hackfests, seminars, pub events, installfests, and so forth. Any interested user group/company/community could
put together an event that week and we could have writing job to promote them under a common umbrella,
with the OnLinux and FSOSS events as the "bookends". sohbet
